Working with Wild Woods
Discover the forest like never before with a hands-on exploration of native trees and woodworking. Join us at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park for a unique program focused on the native trees of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. From identifying trees to learning woodworking techniques, this event combines nature education and creativity.
Learn about native trees during a guided stroll through the park, practice tree identification, and explore woodworking with the heartwood of native species. Gain knowledge and confidence to start your journey in wild woodworking.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Participants should meet at the Headquarters, Tram Turnaround. Bring water and wear weather-appropriate clothing. The park entry fee is $5 for adults, while children 12 and under get free entry. Visitors with a Texas State Park Pass enjoy free park entry.
Attendance is limited, and registration opens on December 1, 2024. Register online at Registration Form.
