Spring Break Adventure at MOSTHistory: Hands-On Fun for Families!

Edinburg, Texas – Looking for a unique and engaging way to spend Spring Break? The Museum of South Texas History (MOSTHistory) invites families to step into the past with interactive, hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and fun!

From Tuesday, March 18, to Friday, March 21, 2025, young explorers can dive into history through exciting games and activities tailored to two age groups:

  • 4 to 6 years old
  • 7 to 11 years old

Daily Schedule & Format

Families and institutions can choose from one of the following sessions each day:

  • 9:00 – 11:00 AM
  • 12:00 – 2:00 PM

Participants are welcome to return on another day during this period to enjoy more hands-on learning and exploration!

Activities Include:

  • Vegetable Toss – Test your aim in this farm-inspired challenge!
  • Scavenger Hunt & I Spy – Search for hidden historical clues throughout the museum!
  • Break the Code – Crack secret messages like spies and soldiers of the past!
  • Meet Our Mammoth – Discover the story of South Texas’ very own prehistoric giant!
  • Coloring & Art Stations – Get creative with history-inspired crafts!
  • Follow Native Animal Footprints – Learn how to track local wildlife!
  • Civilian Defense Airplane Identification Challenge – A WWII-era history experience!

“These activities give visitors of all ages a chance to experience history in a fun, interactive way,” said Leticia Cavazos, Program Coordinator. “From nature exploration to hands-on puzzles and crafts, there’s something for everyone!”

Cost & Registration

  • $5 per child
  • $9 per adult/responsible adult
  • Institutional Groups: One adult chaperone per 10 children

The event is included with regular museum admission, and institutions can pre-schedule projects for their groups.
