South Padre Island Named a ConventionSouth Annual Readers’ Choice Award Winner for the 10th Time

South Padre Island, TX — ConventionSouth, the national multimedia resource for planning events in the South, has awarded Visit South Padre Island (South Padre Island CVB) a 2025 Readers’ Choice Award.  This is the 10th consecutive year that Visit South Padre Island has received the award.

“ConventionSouth readers and fans have once again voted to decide the best meeting sites in the South, and it is no surprise to us that South Padre Island CVB has been selected to receive our annual Readers’ Choice Award,” said ConventionSouth Associate Publisher Tiffany Burtnett. “This prestigious recognition comes from the United States’ top meeting professionals who hold events in the South. These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities, and they have determined that South Padre Island CVB indeed displays the commitment to professionalism, creativity, and service that they require.”

Visit South Padre Island is among 502 convention and visitor bureaus (CVBs), meeting facilities, hotels, and unique venues across the South to receive this year’s Reader’s Choice Award. Throughout the year, meeting professionals nominated the meeting sites they believe provide exemplary service for group events. The nominated sites are then compiled onto an online ballot where meeting professionals and fans are asked to vote for the best of the best. With over 7,000 voters participating in the selection process and the highest social media interaction to date, this was the most successful and engaging year ever for the award.

The ConventionSouth Readers’ Choice Award continues South Padre Island (SPI) ‘s success this year. In October, SPI was named the #6 U.S. island in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award. In August, SPI had 15 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards winners. In May, USA Today readers named South Padre Island’s beach at Isla Blanca Park as the top beach in Texas.
