On Vote Early Day, Latino Leaders Call on Voters to Take Action and Shape California’s Future
NATIONWIDE — Poder Latinx, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to building Latino political power and civic engagement, is proud to once more join Vote Early Day 2025 as a national partner. Across the country, Poder Latinx will host and support events to educate and mobilize Latino voters, ensuring our communities have full access to early voting opportunities ahead of this year’s Election Day.
Each activation will spotlight the importance of early voting not only in local and state races but also in key ballot measures—such as California’s Proposition 50, which could reshape representation and strengthen democratic participation statewide, and the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) special election.
“Vote Early Day is a celebration of our power and participation,” said Yadira Sánchez, Executive Director of Poder Latinx. “When our community votes early, we’re not just avoiding long lines, but breaking down barriers that have historically kept us from the ballot box. Early voting gives working families, caregivers, and first-time voters the chance to make their voices heard on their own terms. It’s how we make sure our democracy truly represents everyone.”
Vote Early Day was founded by MTV in 2020 as a nonpartisan national movement to bring together thousands of partners to make early voting easy, accessible, and celebrated. What began during the pandemic to protect public health and democracy has now grown into a nationwide civic holiday that empowers millions of Americans to cast their ballots early each year. Poder Latinx is one of the founding members of this civic holiday.

Vote Early Day Press Conference
Poder Latinx, the Education Leadership Foundation (ELF), and other community partners will join to host a press conference on Vote Early Day, urging eligible voters not to wait until the last minute to mail in or return their ballots — making their voices heard in the November 4 elections. This year, the Latino vote is more critical than ever. With Proposition 50 on the ballot, a constitutional amendment that could reshape California’s congressional districts and representation through 2030, every voice and every voice counts.
