Several dead after small plane crashes in Southern California neighborhood

Los Angeles (USA) (EFE) – An unknown number of people died Thursday when a small plane crashed in a San Diego neighborhood in Southern California, causing a fire that destroyed a dozen homes and forced the evacuation of residents and the closure of roads.
“Several deaths have been confirmed in an accident near Sculpin Street and Santo Street,” located in northern San Diego, the San Diego Police Department reported, without providing details.
Authorities added that one person was hospitalized, while two others who were treated for the incident have been released.
The aircraft, a Cessna 550, crashed near Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport in California at around 3:45 a.m. local time (10:45 a.m. GMT).
The number of people on board is unknown at this time. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the incident. The NTSB will lead the investigation and provide updates.
