Lawsuit Filed in TX Against Roblox After 7-Year-Old Boy Targeted by Female Predator

Lawsuit claims wildly popular app is negligent in providing safeguards for children, creating breeding grounds for predators

CAMERON COUNTY, TX– Another disturbing child sexploitation lawsuit against Roblox has been filed in the state of Texas. Dolman Law Group announced it filed a complaint on August 6, 2025, in the Southern District of Texas, Brownsville Division on behalf of a Cameron County mother and her minor son. In the complaint, Dolman Law Group alleges the corporation is accountable for creating a breeding ground for predators and enabling the sexual exploitation of a now eight-year-old boy, identified as John Doe. The suit further purports Roblox prioritizes financial gain over child welfare.

At the time he was victimized earlier in 2025 at age seven, John Doe was an avid user of Roblox, an app marketed for children that boasts over 380 million active monthly users. Believing there were proper safeguards in place, John Doe’s mother allowed her young son to use the online gaming platform trusting Roblox’s representations of child safety. During her son’s usage of the apps, it’s alleged he unknowingly encountered a dangerous female predator, posing as another eight-year-old child, who began grooming John Doe. Eventually gaining his trust with the promise of friendship, the predator escalated her depraved behavior by sending the child graphic messages describing sexual acts they would engage in as well as explicit images of herself and coercing the minor to send sexually explicit images of himself.

“These cases against Roblox are a terrifying reminder of the world we live in where capitalist greed far outweighs humanity,” said Matthew Dolman, Principal of Dolman Law Group. “Roblox has been allowed to operate lawlessly, endangering countless children who can easily fall prey to sordid predators who function freely within, and beyond, the app. We, as both citizens and parents, must hold companies like Roblox accountable for their actions.”

The lawsuit alleges through pervasive misrepresentations about safety, the app instills an unfounded sense of safety in parents when in reality the design of the platform makes children easy and accessible prey for pedophiles. Through Dolman Law Group’s investigation, the lawsuit also uncovered  alarming Roblox “experiences” mirroring pop-culture references with hundreds of “games” titled “Diddy Party,” “Survive Diddy,” “JeffEpsteinSupporter” and “Escape to Epstein Island.”

The filing alleges that Roblox is fully aware of these “experiences” and does nothing to stop them, playing a direct role in enabling a culture where sexual exploitation is normalized in the underdeveloped and impressionable minds of children. With the ability to control and eliminate these heinous threats, Roblox prioritizes growing its number of users – therefore its profits – over child safety and protecting our most vulnerable communities.

The Plaintiff’s lawsuit seeks an action of unspecified monetary damages from the Defendant for suffering profound life-alerting injuries, including, but not limited to, emotional distress, psychological trauma, severe mental health issues and depression as well as persistent anxiety.
