Kilmar Garcia’s wife forced into safehouse

Jennifer Vasquez Sura, the wife of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, was forced to go into a safehouse for the safety of her children and her own after DHS ‘accidentally’ posted her home address on social media.
The Trump administration has claimed for weeks that they sent Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a maximum security prison for terrorists in El Salvador ‘by mistake’ and calling him ‘a violent criminal’ and ‘gang member’ with no evidence. In order to justify their claims, the Department of Homeland Security posted online an order of protection that Jennifer Vasquez Sura had asked for- but later abandoned- against her husband. That order of protection shows Vasquez Sura’s unredacted home address.
“I don’t feel safe when the government posts my address, the house where my family lives, for everyone to see, especially when this case has gone viral and people have all sorts of opinions,” Vasquez Sura told The Washington Post. “So, this is definitely a bit terrifying. I’m scared for my kids.”
The Supreme Court ruled that Abrego Garcia had to be returned to the United States, but the Trump administration has fought against that ruling. The case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a highly debated and controversial one- touching on the subjects of immigration, human rights, and the extent of executive powers- and seems to have captured the attention of the people from all over the world. Some people call for his return to the United States, while others, which include the Trump administration and President Bukele, say that he will not be brought back home.
Neither the government nor the Department of Homeland Security have commented on the decision to have the family’s home address posted on their social media, despite the very real danger it places a mother and her children in.
The world continues to watch how this very monumental case continues to develop.
