Elle Fanning joins the cast of ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’

International News, (EFE).- American actress and model Elle Fanning will play Effie in the new installment of “The Hunger Games,” subtitled “Sunrise on the Reaping,” The Hollywood Reporter (THR) reported.

The Emmy-nominated actress has been cast to play Effie Trinket in the upcoming film from Lionsgate, according to THR. The film is directed by Francis Lawrence and features the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novel.

The new film will be released in theaters on November 20, 2026, and features Effie working as Haymitch Abernathy’s (played by Joseph Zada) stylist during the preparations for the “50th Hunger Games.”

Actress Elizabeth Banks played a more adult version of the same character in the first four films in the saga, which began with the theatrical release of “The Hunger Games” in 2012, the outlet notes.

The previously announced cast includes Zada, Whitney Peak, McKenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Lili Taylor, and Ben Wang.

THR reports that Ralph Fiennes has been cast to play the diabolical President Snow, and that Molly McCann and Iona Bell will play the prominent book characters Louella and Lou Lou, respectively.

Fanning’s recent work includes last year’s Oscar-nominated film “A Complete Stranger” and Joachim Trier’s “Sentimental Value,” which premieres at the Cannes Film Festival this week.
