City of Mission Hosts Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk

MISSION, TEXAS – The City of Mission is proud to partner with the Greater Gold Foundation to host the Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk, an inspiring event aimed at raising awareness and bringing the community together in the fight against childhood cancer. We invite our media partners and the community to join us  Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 7:00 pm at the Mission Event Center, 200 N. Shary Road. 

The event theme, “Finding a Cure Starts with Awareness,” highlights the importance of shining a golden light of hope for children and families affected by cancer. Families, advocates, and supporters across the Rio Grande Valley are encouraged to participate in this powerful walk.

As a community, we must continue to raise awareness and stand together in the hope of finding a cure,” Sydney Hernandez, Director of Media Relations, “This walk is a powerful reminder of the strength of unity, compassion, and commitment to our children.”
