Hidalgo County Community Service Agency Utility Assistance Program Reaches Full Capacity for 2025

EDINBURG – The Hidalgo County Community Service Agency (HCCSA) announced that its Utility Assistance Program has reached full capacity for the 2025 program year.
Beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025, HCCSA will no longer accept new applications for current or future month electric utility assistance.
HCCSA remains committed to supporting households experiencing urgent disconnection. Applications will continue to be accepted for families who present an official Disconnect Notice issued by their electricity provider. Assistance for disconnections will be available only in person at the HCCSA office and will be provided as a one-time payment.
Other HCCSA programs remain open and available, including Bravo Zulu, Access to Success (ACTS), Operation Real’em In, and Emergency Services. Residents may apply for these programs in person at the HCCSA office, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To ensure fair access, disconnect assistance will be processed according to the following daily schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 5 Disconnect Notices per day
- Friday: 10 Disconnect Notices
