Springsteen releases album of his recent concert criticizing Trump, escalating the dispute

New York (EFE) – Bruce Springsteen announced this Wednesday that he will release an album recorded live at a recent concert, which includes his criticism of United States President Donald Trump. These criticisms prompted Trump to insult him and threaten to investigate him for illegal political financing.
This is his concert on May 14 in Manchester (United Kingdom), which kicked off his “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour and sparked a dispute that continues to escalate when he gave a speech against Trump and his administration, which he accused of being “corrupt, incompetent, and traitorous.”
According to Springsteen’s website, “The highlights of that first night are now available digitally as the ‘Land of Hope and Dreams’ EP, including the title track ‘Long Walk Home,’ ‘My City of Ruins,’ and The E Street Band’s cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Chimes of Freedom.'”
The enmity between Springsteen, a declared Democratic voter, and Trump goes way back. “The Boss” demanded in 2016 that Trump’s rallies stop playing his song “Born in the U.S.A.,” and during his first term, he released “That’s What Makes Us Great,” in which he referred to him as a “con man.”
The new album also includes the “introductions” to the songs, in which he accused the government of restricting freedom of expression, of lashing out at the American working class, of expelling residents from the country “without due process,” and of siding with dictators, of “abandoning the world’s poorest children,” or of reversing “historic civil rights laws.”
Trump responded by insulting the New Jersey artist through Truth Social, calling him an “arrogant jerk,” “dumb as a rock,” and a “dry rocker,” and included him on a list of stars he accused of making “potentially illegal contributions” to former Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
“I will be calling for a full investigation into this matter. Candidates cannot pay for ENDORSEMENT, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment,” added the Republican president, who called Springsteen, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift “unpatriotic artists.”
