Men’s Golf 2025 Spring Schedule
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men’s golf team announced their 2025 spring schedule on Thursday that will open with the Vaqueros Intercollegiate from February 2-4 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
The Vaqueros Intercollegiate will be the first of six events before the Southland Conference Championship that will be held April 21-23 at Comanche Trace in Kerrville.
The Vaqueros will compete at the Border Olympics, hosted by the University of Houston, from February 17-18 at Laredo Country Club before hosting the South Texas Match Play from March 10-11 at McAllen Country Club.
“The spring brings us a good mix of new venues and some familiar ones,” UTRGV head coach Houston Moore said. “We will start with our return to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for the second year of the Vaqueros Intercollegiate. It’s a bigger and better field from last year. Follow that with the Border Olympics, which is one of the oldest standing golf tournaments in the country and then we stay in McAllen for our South Texas Match Play event at McAllen Country Club. We are excited to see our fans catch a true home event.”
UTRGV will compete at the prestigious All-American Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Houston, from March 17-18 at the Golf Club of Houston and then will head north to compete at the Maridoe Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of North Texas, from March 31-April 1 at Maridoe Golf Course.
The Vaqueros will get their final tune up at the Tiger Intercollegiate, hosted by Missouri University, from April 7-8 at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Missouri.
“We follow those first three with three strong tournaments at championship golf courses,” Moore said. “We go to the All-American, Maridoe Intercollegiate, and the Tiger Intercollegiate. All three are going to be packed with some of the country’s best programs. After regular season play, we will compete at our first championship in the Southland at Comanche Trace. We look forward to our opportunities this spring.”
This season, the NCAA Regional Championships will be held from May 12-14 at regional sites with the NCAA Championships being held from May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
