Women’s Golf Finishes in 15th at The Clash at Boulder Creek

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s golf team finished in 15^th at The Clash at Boulder Creek on Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Course.

The Vaqueros posted a final round 296 for a three-round score of 887 as they finished ahead of Southern Utah and Incarnate Word.

Sophomore Natalia Rodriguez led the Vaqueros as she finished tied for 25^th with a three-round score of 214. Rodriguez carded her second round under par with a final round one-under par 71.

Senior Cristina Galban finished tied for 56^th with a three-round score of 221 after posting a final round 74. Junior Jackie Howard Gonzalez finished tied for 81^st with a three-round score of 227 after a final round 80.

Freshman Kieli Saenz finished tied for 87^th with a three-round score of 231 after posting her best round of the week with a final round 76. Sophomore Camila Herrera finished in 91^st with a three-round score of 233 after also posting her best round of the week with a final round 75.

San Francisco won the team title with a three-round score of 823 after a final round 273. Fresno State’s Vunnisa Vu and San Francisco’s Eva Pett shared the individual title after finishing with a three-round score of 201.

The Vaqueros will be back in action on Friday when they face the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders in a match play event as part of the South Texas Showdown, presented by Rally Credit Union.
