Texas Tribune to Host “Preserving the RGV’s Economic Miracle” in partnership with DHR Health

Edinburg, TX: The Texas Tribune, in partnership with DHR Health, will host an in-depth conversation on the Rio Grande Valley’s economic future at a special event entitled “Preserving the RGV’s Economic Miracle.” The event will take place at noon on September 24, 2025, at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance located at 118 Paseo Del Prado.
The luncheon program will bring together government and community leaders, policymakers, healthcare experts, government and business representatives to discuss the factors driving the region’s remarkable economic growth and the strategies needed to sustain it. The two panel conversations will be moderated by Texas Tribune Editor-in-Chief Matthew Watkins and the Tribune’s RGV reporter, Berenice Garcia.
Confirmed speakers include: Bob Anderson, vice president for supply chain and operations, Alps Alpine North America; Julia Coronado , president and founder at MacroPolicy Perspectives LLC and member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Academic Advisory Council; Ramiro Garza, Jr., mayor of Edinburg; Mario Reyna, executive director of Rioplex; and Nick Rhodes, president and CEO, Rhodes Enterprises.
“This is an important event for the Rio Grande Valley as we are bringing together diverse voices that will ensure the economic momentum we have built continues to benefit all residents and our region,” said Marissa Castaneda, DHR Health senior executive vice president.
