Stop The Bleed Class
Uncontrolled bleeding is a leading cause of preventable death following injury. In many emergencies, the first few minutes are critical, and having the knowledge to stop bleeding can save lives. That’s why South Texas Health System McAllen is proud to offer free STOP THE BLEED courses to the community.
These courses provide vital training on how to effectively control bleeding in an injured person before professional help arrives. The interactive classes include both formal presentations and hands-on practice, covering essential techniques such as direct pressure application, wound packing, and proper tourniquet usage.
The STOP THE BLEED courses are open to anyone over the age of 12 and are completely free of charge. Each class accommodates 20 participants and is held at the South Texas Health System Heart Clinics’ Conference Room, located at 500 E. Ridge Rd., McAllen, TX 78503.
