Sí Se Puede! Latina Leadership Conference 2025 Ignites Empowerment Across the Rio Grande Valley

MISSION, Texas — The Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted the Latina Leadership Conference 2025 on Thursday, Sept. 4, bringing together women leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals from across the region.
Hidalgo County Commissioner Precinct 4, Ellie Torres, served as Mistress of Ceremony, guiding attendees through a full day of networking, professional development workshops, and panel discussions. This year’s theme, “Sí Se Puede,” highlighted the importance of leadership, community, and creating opportunities for women to succeed in business and beyond.
The conference featured keynote speaker Janet Murguía, president and CEO of UnidosUS, who shared insights on leadership, civic engagement, and the power of community advocacy. Attendees also participated in workshops and discussions designed to provide practical tools for growth, the chance to connect with peers, and a platform to celebrate the achievements of women making an impact in the Rio Grande Valley.
Cynthia M. Sakulenzki, president and CEO of the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said, “It’s inspiring to see so many women come together to share ideas, build connections, and support one another. Events like this show the power of community and the incredible impact women have in shaping the future of our region.”
Since its launch in 2017, the Latina Leadership Conference has grown steadily, reflecting the rising influence of women in business and leadership across South Texas. Hundreds of participants attended this year, eager to learn, connect, and celebrate women’s leadership in the valley.
