Second Suspect Arrested in Edinburg Murder Case
EDINBURG, Texas — Authorities have made a significant breakthrough in a recent murder case with the arrest of a second suspect. The arrest comes after the body of an unidentified man was found last Friday, sparking a thorough investigation.
Samuel Uvalle Sr., 47, was taken into custody on Saturday at the 1400 block of Quitaca Dr. in Edinburg. This arrest was the result of a coordinated effort between the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Uvalle’s arrest marks a critical step in solving the case that has unsettled the local community.
The investigation began on Friday when the body of an unidentified man was discovered near the 4600 block of Wisconsin Road. The grim discovery prompted an immediate response from local law enforcement. Despite the initial lack of information, the investigators worked tirelessly to track down those responsible.
Samuel Uvalle Sr. was subsequently booked into the county jail. He is the second person to be arrested in connection with this case. The first suspect, 43-year-old Jesus Grijalva, was detained earlier by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office Investigators. Grijalva’s arrest had already indicated the seriousness and complexity of the case, and Uvalle’s arrest further underscores the progress being made by law enforcement.
However, the investigation is far from over. Authorities are actively searching for a third suspect, 35-year-old Roberto Salas. Salas is believed to be involved in the murder and is currently at large. Investigators have been diligently following leads and gathering evidence to locate Salas and bring him to justice.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office has appealed to the public for assistance. They urge anyone with information about the case or the whereabouts of Roberto Salas to come forward. Tips and information can be directed to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office at (956) 383-8114. The community’s cooperation is seen as vital to resolving the case and ensuring that all individuals involved are held accountable.
This case has highlighted the collaborative efforts of various law enforcement agencies. The involvement of the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force has been instrumental in the swift apprehension of suspects. Such partnerships are crucial in addressing serious crimes and ensuring public safety.
As the investigation continues, the community remains on edge, awaiting further developments. The arrest of Uvalle and Grijalva has provided some relief, but the search for Salas and the quest for justice for the unidentified victim remains a priority for law enforcement and the public alike.
