Rio Grande City Grulla ISD, AVANCE Inc. Head Start Introduce New Early Childhood Partnership

Rio Grande City Grulla, Texas – Rio Grande City Grulla ISD and AVANCE Inc. Head Start commemorated their partnership for early childhood education with a ribbon cutting on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 at the RGCGISD Early Childhood Academy.

Through this collaboration, children enrolled at AVANCE Inc. Head Start will attend classes at the RGCGISD Early Childhood Academy, where they will benefit from co-teaching supported by district teachers and curriculum.

The initiative creates a seamless educational pathway for young learners, preparing them to transition successfully from Head Start to kindergarten and beyond.

“We are opening the doors for our youngest learners, giving them the very best start possible,” said RGCGISD Superintendent Guadalupe Garza. “This partnership represents hope, unity and a better tomorrow for each child and family member.”

The partnership was facilitated by Region One Education Service Center (ESC). Region One ESC’s Early Childhood Partnerships team supports school systems in building collaborations with early childcare centers to strengthen curriculum-based education for children.
