PSJA ISD Unveils Newly Remodeled PSJA Stadium Press Box & Suites

PHARR – Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) celebrated the unveiling of the newly remodeled PSJA Stadium Press Box and Suites on Friday, August 22, 2025, celebrating an exciting milestone for the district and community.

Home to the district’s four varsity high school football teams and numerous annual events, the PSJA Stadium seats more than 12,000 fans and features one of the largest scoreboards in the region. Beyond athletics, the stadium is a gathering place for the entire PSJA Family, hosting athletic competitions, district-wide celebrations, and community events that bring thousands together year after year.

The new Deluxe Suites offer fans a first-class game day experience with amenities including Lounge Seating with Field View, VIP Parking, Air Conditioning, and Convenient Restroom Access. These upgrades were designed to elevate the spectator experience, giving families and community members an inviting space to enjoy Friday night lights.

During the ceremony, PSJA ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alejandro Elias shared how these new upgrades will strengthen the sense of pride and tradition in the district.

“These renovations are more than just the facilities; they are about creating lifelong memories for our students, families, and community,” said Dr. Elias. “Our stadium is where tradition lives, where milestones are celebrated, and where our PSJA Family comes together to cheer on our students.”

As part of the celebration, the district dedicated the newly remodeled Press Box in honor of Carlos Villegas Jr., longtime PSJA School Board of Trustee and a voice of PSJA Football for more than 30 years, announcing over 150 PSJA ISD Football games during his tenure. For decades, Mr. Villegas filled Friday nights with energy and spirit, becoming a true part of the PSJA game-day experience.

“I want to thank so many people who were involved and instrumental in getting this done and for making today possible,” said Villegas. “I also want to recognize those people who have stood by my side, day in and day out, and have supported me through the ups and downs—my family, this is your legacy as much as it is mine.”
