PSJA ISD Educator Named 2025 TABE Elementary Bilingual Teacher of the Year

PHARR – Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) educator, Carolina De Anda-Treviño, 5th-grade teacher at Carmen Anaya Elementary, has been named the 2025 Texas Association for Bilingual Education (TABE) Elementary Bilingual Teacher of the Year. This honor recognizes her outstanding dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving emergent bilingual students.
Carolina, who was previously recognized as the Regional TABE Teacher of the Year, continues to inspire both students and colleagues with her passion for bilingual education. Her innovative teaching methods, advocacy for emergent bilingual learners, and relentless commitment to student success have made a lasting impact within the PSJA ISD community.
“It is an immense honor to see one of our own, Ms. De Anda, recognized with such a prestigious award. Her dedication, professionalism, and passion for dual language education reflect the highest standards of teaching and service,” said PSJA Dual Language Program Director Olivia Martinez. “Moments like this speak volumes about the extraordinary educators we are privileged to have here at PSJA ISD. ¡Felicidades, Carolina, por este logro tan merecido!”
As part of the recognition, Carolina will receive complimentary registration to the TABE Annual Conference, where she will be recognized during a special Teacher of the Year luncheon to be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
“I am truly honored to receive this recognition, but the greatest honor of all is guiding and learning alongside my students every day,” said De Anda-Treviño. “As an emergent bilingual myself, I see this award as a reflection of their brilliance and resilience, which constantly fuels my growth in this journey as an educator.
