PSJA ISD Class of 2025 Makes History with over $198 Million in Scholarships, Grants, and Dual Enrollment Tuition Savings
PHARR – The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) celebrates a record-breaking achievement by the graduating Class of 2025, which has been awarded a historic total of $198,593,618 in scholarships, grants, and college tuition savings, the highest in district history.

This milestone reflects the hard work and determination of PSJA ISD students, as well as the district’s continued commitment to providing equitable access to college and career opportunities.
Across all six PSJA ISD high schools, the PSJA ISD Class of 2025 was awarded:
  • $148,548,130 in Scholarships
  • $40,844,588 in Federal and State Grants
  • $9,200,892 in College Tuition savings through PSJA ISD’s partnership with South Texas College (STC)
Additionally, through the district’s Nationally Recognized Early College Program in partnership with South Texas College, thousands of PSJA ISD seniors earned Associate Degrees and College Certificates at no cost, saving their families thousands of dollars.
“We could not be prouder of our PSJA ISD Class of 2025 for reaching this extraordinary and historic milestone,” said PSJA Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alejandro Elias. “Earning over $198 million in scholarships and grants is a direct result of our students’ hard work, the dedication of our educators, and the support of our parents. Congratulations to all!”

In addition to rigorous academic programs, PSJA ISD provides personalized college and career support through its PSJA College Transition Program, staffed by a team of College Transition Specialists and Financial Aid Officers at every district high school. The program is designed to help students successfully transition from high school to college and ensure that all students are provided with the guidance and support they need to achieve their post-secondary goals.

The PSJA College Transition Specialists work closely with high school seniors and their campus Financial Aid Officers to assist with every step of the college enrollment process, from applying to college and completing financial aid applications to making sure students are cleared for awarding. Additionally, once students enroll in college, the specialist continues to offer support throughout their higher education journey.

“We are incredibly proud of our students for this remarkable, record-breaking achievement! It’s a powerful reflection of the outstanding work happening across PSJA ISD,” said PSJA College Transition Director Carlos Garcia. “A heartfelt thank you to our College Transition team, superintendent, school board, administrators, and all campus staff for their dedication and support.”
