Paint the Park for Earth Day 2024

The city of Pharr is excited to extend an invitation to the public for a unique event at the Pharr/Vanguard Nature Park in celebration of Earth Day 2024, which falls on April 22nd. This year’s theme, “Planet vs Plastics,” aims to raise awareness about the environmental impact of plastics on our planet.

Participants of all ages are encouraged to join us in making their mark by painting a parking space at the park. There will be two categories for participants: Youth (ages 10-17) and Adult (18+). Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each category.

The painting period will run from April 13th to April 27th, with judging taking place on Saturday, April 27th. Painting hours will be from Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The winners’ celebration will be held on Saturday, April 27th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pharr/Vanguard Academy Nature and Birding Center located at 1025 South Richmond Drive.
