McAllen ISD School Board approves pay raises

The McAllen ISD Board of Trustees approved pay raises for all staff for the coming school year at its regular board meeting this week.

The pay includes substantial raises for teachers, professional staff and hourly employees. The breakdown is as follows:

·         Teachers with zero years of experience will receive $55,300 for the year

·         Teachers with 1-2 years of experience will receive $1,560

·         Teachers with 3-4 years of experience will receive $2,500

·         Teachers with 5 or more years of experience will receive $5,000

·         Teachers with 25 or more years of experience who are new to McAllen ISD will receive $71,789

·         Non-teaching professional staff will receive 2.5 percent above the mid-point of their salary range

·         Hourly staff will receive 75 cents more per hour or 2.5 percent above their mid-point (whichever is greater)

 In addition, at the June 24 meeting, the School Board approved a $55 per month contribution ($660 per year) for each employee’s fringe benefits.
