McAllen ISD High School Mariachi earned the overall distinction of a Division 1

All 3 McAllen ISD High School Mariachi varsity ensembles participated in the State UIL Mariachi Festival and earned the overall distinction of a Division 1! Of the 24 groups which performed in the same session as McAllen ISD, only 7 earned Division 1 Sweepstakes and McAllen ISD earned 3 of those 7 – the most of any district in Texas! This is the 2nd straight year they have accomplished this.
