Leading with Heart: Mission CISD’s Hiram Burguete elected VASBO President
MISSION, TEXAS– Mission CISD is showing that great leadership isn’t just about the bottom line, it’s about lifting others to the top. Mission Consolidated Independent School District’s (CISD) reputation for financial excellence continues to shine across the Rio Grande Valley as Hiram Burguete, a key leader in the district’s Business and Finance Department, has been named President of the Valley Association of School Business Officials (VASBO).
The Valley Association of School Business Officials (VASBO) is a regional chapter of the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO), a statewide organization dedicated to providing education, professional development, and resources to school business professionals across Texas. Through TASBO and its regional chapters like VASBO, business and operations professionals from districts throughout the Rio Grande Valley have access to valuable training, networking opportunities, and support aimed at improving the management and delivery of public education.
This milestone reinforces Mission CISD’s vision of excellence by showcasing how thoughtful financial leadership can drive meaningful progress for schools and students across the region.
Burguete, Director of Payroll, Employee Benefits, Risk Management & Wellness for Mission CISD, brings years of experience and dedication to advancing financial transparency, efficiency, and innovation in school district operations.
As VASBO President, he will now extend that leadership to support districts across the Valley in strengthening their financial systems and resources for students.
“I am honored and humbled to serve as President of VASBO,” said Burguete. “This role is an opportunity to give back to a profession that has given me so much. At Mission CISD, I’ve learned that great financial leadership is about service, collaboration, and doing what’s best for students. I look forward to working with fellow professionals across the Valley to build on that shared mission of excellence.”
Under Burguete’s leadership, VASBO will continue to promote professional growth, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices among school business officials.
Mission CISD congratulates Hiram Burguete on this achievement and celebrates the continued leadership of its Business and Finance Department in setting high standards for excellence across the Valley and the state.
