Kim Kardashian Denounces “Inhumane” ICE Raids in Los Angeles and Defends Immigrants

New York, (EFE) – Television star Kim Kardashian denounced the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Los Angeles on Wednesday as “inhumane,” defended the contributions of immigrants to society, and urged people not to “ignore” injustices.

Kardashian, 44, shared an Instagram story with her more than 350 million followers in which she echoed protests against the immigration raids ordered by the Trump administration in her hometown, which have escalated into unrest in recent days.

“When we’re told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and deport violent criminals, that’s fine. But when we see innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up,” wrote the fashion entrepreneur.

“Growing up in L.A., I’ve seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric of this city. They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family,” she said, highlighting their “contributions” and urging others to look beyond ideology.

“We can’t turn a blind eye when fear and injustice prevent people from living their lives freely and safely. There has to be a BETTER way,” she concluded.

Kardashian is the daughter of the late high-profile attorney Robert Kardashian and recently obtained a legal degree after years of activism in U.S. criminal justice reform, which even led her to meet with Trump during his first term to discuss the issue.

Following that message, she shared a video of rapper Doechii delivering a speech at the BET Awards, in which the artist denounced Trump’s use of military force against the right to protest.
