Hojalata Calaveras Adult Art Workshop
Sunday, October 27, 2024 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
This Día de los Muertos, make your ofrenda extra special by creating your own Hojalata calavera at the Hoja Lata Calaveras Adult Art Workshop. In this workshop, participants will craft a beautiful piece of embossed tin art inspired by traditional Mexican folk art. Using tin, you’ll cut, emboss, color, and assemble your very own calavera to honor the holiday.
In addition to the hands-on creative session, participants will have the opportunity to view examples of Hojalata from the IMAS Vault, offering an inspiring glimpse into the artistry of the past. The workshop is perfect for both beginners and those with experience in folk art techniques.
Spaces are limited, and advanced registration is encouraged to secure your spot. Registration includes admission to the International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS), so you’re welcome to explore the museum before or after the workshop.
The workshop takes place on Sunday, October 27, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Tickets are $25 per participant or $20 for IMAS members. The workshop is open to participants aged 17 and above.
Celebrate the spirit of Día de los Muertos with this unique and meaningful artistic experience. Sign up today and create something truly personal for your ofrenda!
