Hidalgo County DA hosts Chalk the Walk event on Saturday

EDINBURG – The Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office will host “Chalk the Walk” event on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. – noon at 100 East Cano in Edinburg.

Chalk the Walk is all about spreading joy, optimism and inspiration through the magical power of sidewalk chalk. With April being Child Abuse Prevention month, the DA’s office is taking the message to the sidewalks with written messages of hope using chalk.

“We’d like to invite the entire community out for a good time, and to raise awareness on child abuse while drawing inspiration from sidewalk art.  Don’t miss the chance to be part of this colorful and creative event, “said Hidalgo County District Attorney Toribio “Terry” Palacios.

This event is free and open to the public.  Supplies will be provided, participants are also welcome to bring their own chalk.
