Hidalgo County DA and Family Violence Task Force host 5th Annual Brides’ March to Honor Victims of Domestic Violence

EDINBURG – The Hidalgo County Family Violence Task Force, in collaboration with the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, will host the 5th Annual Brides March: Victims of Domestic Violence Memorial Walk on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Hidalgo County Commissioners Court parking lot, located at 100 E Cano St, in Edinburg.
The event will begin with a gathering at 8 a.m., and the memorial walk will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. Participants are encouraged to wear bridal, white, or purple attire, symbolizing peace, remembrance, and support for domestic violence victims and survivors.
The Bride’s March is a solemn yet empowering tribute to those who have lost their lives due to domestic violence, as well as a rallying call for community action, education, and prevention. Now in its fifth year, the event continues to grow in impact and participation, drawing families, advocates, and civic leaders together in a unified stand against abuse.
“This march is more than symbolic, it’s a movement,” said Hidalgo County District Attorney Toribio “Terry” Palacios. “Each step we take is a step toward awareness, justice, and healing.”
The event is free and open to the public. Members of the public, advocacy organizations, and local officials are invited to attend and show their support.
