Guided Meditation in the Gallery
The City of Edinburg Cultural Arts invites the community to a Guided Meditation led by Dr. Kim Finn this March 5th at the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library Meeting Room. As a celebration of arts, wellness, and belonging, Guided Meditation uses a method of breathing and focusing exercises as a way to help ease anxiety and reduce stress.
Set to take place on March 5, April 2, and May 21, Dr. Kim Finn will share how to work through stress and anxiety with self-coping skills. Bring your own yoga mat or towel, or use a chair provided, for the hour long meditation sessions. Follow this link of the registration form.
Dr. Kim Finn is a doctor of rehabilitation counseling and assistant professor at UTRGV as well as the coordinator for the UTRGV Expressive Arts Program, which uses the arts as a therapeutic pathway to healing. Dr. Kim works as part of the core team of community partners who are working with the City of Edinburg Cultural Arts Division on an Arts for EveryBody grant project to promote using the arts for healing in communities.
The event is free and available for ages 16+, but anyone under 18 must have guardian consent to participate.
