Free Pet Microchip Clinic

The City of Mission has partnered with The Rio Grande Valley Humane Society and added a new date for their free microchip clinic. This Saturday, February 24, you can ensure the safety of your beloved pet by joining us at the Mission Animal Shelter (227 Abelino Farias St).

While registration for this event is now closed, walk-ins will be accepted after 11 a.m. the day of.

Microchipping your pet will be free, but donations are appreciated. Pets are microchipped to ensure their safety, as well as that of the community. When lost pets are taken to the shelter, one of the first things that get done is a scan for that microchip in order to reunite them with their owners. It makes for a much speedier reunion, as well as making sure to keep shelters free from loved pets and housing instead dogs and cats that are still looking for their forever homes.
