First Annual Tacos & Tequila at the Museum of South Texas History

An Evening of Flavor, History, and Heritage
A Fundraiser Benefiting the Museum’s Mission

Edinburg, Texas – The Museum of South Texas History invites the community to its first annual Tacos & Tequila, a spirited evening of flavor, music, and cultural pride, taking place on July 25th from 6 to 10 p.m.

This flavorful fundraiser supports the museum’s mission to preserve and share the Rio Grande Valley’s rich agricultural and cultural heritage. Guests will enjoy taco tastings from local taquerías, aguas frescas, tequila-inspired drinks, and live music in a setting that blends celebration with purpose.

“Tacos & Tequila is more than a party. It’s a way for the community to come together around our shared history,” said Francisco Guajardo, CEO of the Museum of South Texas History. “We’re proud to kick off what we hope becomes a signature annual event.”

The evening will also feature a special pop-up exhibit, “Uncrated: Artifacts Out of the Vault,” offering a rare look at unique and seldom-seen items from the museum’s collection. These artifacts help tell the deeper stories of Valley life, labor, and community, and reflect the historical richness that shapes South Texas.

Guests must be 21 or older to participate in tequila tastings. Tickets include food samples, drink tickets, live entertainment, and access to all exhibit areas. Tickets are available now at www.mosthistory.org.

All proceeds from the event directly support exhibitions, educational programming, and the care of the museum’s historic collections.

Let’s raise a glass to the past. Salud!
