Edinburg North ‘no credible threat’

Edinburg North High School was placed on Lockdown yesterday May 19^th due to reports of a weapon on campus. Edinburg CISD Police arrived on campus to investigate the threat, and a few hours later, Edinburg North lifted the Lockdown. Edinburg CISD Police put out the notice that ‘no credible threat’ had been found.

Despite reassurances, many parents said that statement was not specific enough. Many students claimed to have heard shots fired, and yet the ‘no credible threat’ does not specify if there was no shooter at all or if the threat had passed.

There are many demands for metal detectors to be installed in the campus in order to avoid more situations like this one.
