Dr. Eduardo Martinez del Campo, neurosurgeon specializing in brain tumor and skull base surgery
DHR Health, the largest physician-owned hospital in the United States, proudly serving the Rio Grande Valley since 1997, is pleased to announce Dr. Eduardo Martinez del Campo to its distinguished Neuroscience team. Dr. Martinez del Campo will serve as a neurosurgeon, subspecialized in the diagnosis and treatment of skull base and brain tumors. Additionally, he has expertise in managing medically and surgically disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including the brain, spinal cord, spinal column, and peripheral nerves. He is currently accepting new patients at the DHR Health Neuroscience Institute, located at 5519 Doctor’s Drive in Edinburg.

Born and raised in Mexico City and fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Martinez del Campo graduated top of his medical school class at Anahuac University School of Medicine with the support of a full scholarship for academic excellence. During his studies, he participated in a one-year internship that included a 6-month rotation at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami in Florida; focusing in neurological surgery. He then spent three months at the National Institute of Perinatology, Isidro Espinosa de los Reyes, and an additional three months at the National Institute of Pediatrics, both located in Mexico City. After earning his medical degree, he spent nearly 4 years at the prestigious Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, to further his education earning a post-doctoral fellowship in spine biomechanics and clinical research, where he conducted spine and vascular neurological surgery research. This was also supported by industry-based and academic excellence scholarships.
Additionally, Dr. Martinez del Campo completed his residency in neurological surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he specialized in brain tumor and skull base surgery. He furthered honed his skills with a fellowship in brain tumor and skull base surgery at Swedish Health Services, Cherry Hill campus in Seattle, Washington. He is an active member of several prestigious medical organizations, and has made significant contributions to his field through extensive writing and presentations. His research has been cited over 600 times in academic journals.
