DHR Health Brownsville invites public to see da Vinci 5
DHR Health Brownsville is inviting the public to see firsthand how the da Vinci 5, a robot-assisted surgical system, is helping to innovate minimally invasive surgical procedures with exceptional precision. The two-day event will be guided by expert surgeons from DHR Health Brownsville, Dr. Karen Brooks and Dr. Rene Luna. In addition to showcasing this groundbreaking technology, the hospital will be providing free hernia and pelvic pain screenings.
The community event and screenings, free and open to the public, will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, and Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at DHR Health Brownsville, located at 4750 N. Expressway.

From the makers Intuitive, the da Vinci 5 is the latest generation of robotic-assisted surgical systems, designed to enhance the precision, control, and efficiency of minimally invasive surgeries. This advanced system allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with improved accuracy through tiny incisions, resulting in less pain, reduced scarring, and faster recovery times for patients.
The da Vinci 5 integrates state-of-the-art imaging and robotic technologies, providing surgeons with a high-definition 3D view and enhanced dexterity, which is particularly beneficial for delicate and intricate operations. The hernia and pelvic pain screenings will also be offered free of charge. The hernia screenings will focus on checking for bulges and discomfort. Pelvic pain screenings will be a basic external screening.
