Community Day at IMAS: Exploring and Celebrating the Cultures of Spanish America

Join the International Museum of Art & Science on Saturday April 26th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in celebrating the cultures and a heritage of Spanish America. Admission the museum will be free all day with activities in our Art Studio, Biozone, and guided tours in the galleries. Enjoy food and art from community food vendors and artists as we celebrate the rich heritage of our community.
Free admission, museum-wide event that will have special activities relating to the Paintings of Spanish America in the Art Studio and Biozone, food and artist vendors that relate to the cultures of Spanish America, and guided tours in the galleries.

MPU Biozone – Inca Harvest: Planting Maize and Tomatoes
Learn about the agriculture of the Incan Empire and pot your own Corn or Tomato seedling to take home
Ann Moore Art Studio – Inca Ink: Peruvian Scratchboard Printmaking
Try out scratchboard printmaking as you create works of art inspired by Peruvian culture
Industrial Lab – Sounds of the Andes: DIY Zampoña Making
Make a DIY Zampoña instrument and experiment with air and vibrations as you make the music come alive
Fine Art Galleries: Art Gallery Tours& Textile Touchable
