City of Mission to Honor Local Veterans with Parade and Barbecue Celebration
MISSION, TEXAS – The City of Mission is proud to honor the brave men and women who have served our country with two special community events in celebration of Veterans Day 2025 — the Veterans Day Parade and the Veterans Day Barbecue.
The City of Mission Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Downtown Mission, featuring local veterans, military organizations, schools, community groups, and first responders. Residents are encouraged to line the streets, wave their flags, and show appreciation to those who have proudly worn the uniform in service to our nation. The parade will start on Conway Avenue and Business 83 and end on Bryan Road and Business 83 along downtown Mission. We are excited to share this year’s Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshal is Retired Staff Sergeant Polo Garza, a proud U.S. Marine from Mission.
In addition to the parade, the City of Mission will host its annual Veterans Day Barbecue on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Mission Event Center. The free lunch event is open to all veterans as a gesture of gratitude for their service and sacrifice. Our veterans will have the option to dine inside our event center or pick up their meal to go.
“Mission is a proud, patriotic city — and our veterans hold a special place in our hearts,” said Mayor Norie Gonzalez Garza. “These events are our way of saying thank you to the heroes who have served, protected, and represented our community and our country with honor.”
The City of Mission encourages all residents to attend and participate in these events as the community comes together to celebrate and thank our veterans for their dedication to freedom and service.
