“City of McAllen Provides Permitting Support for Downtown Establishments”

McAllen Development Center Specialists Available to Assist

McAllen, Texas — Continuing through the end of the week, the City of McAllen is making permitting specialists available to all operators within the Entertainment and Cultural Overlay District. Representatives from each department involved in the permitting process will be present to address inquiries regarding applications, operational requirements, inspections, and compliance standards.

Staff from Planning, Building Inspections, Health and Code Compliance, and the Fire Marshal’s Office will be on site to assist in clarifying procedures and expediting the review of pending permits. This initiative reflects the City’s commitment to maintaining clear communication and ensuring that all establishments operate in accordance with applicable regulations.

“The Entertainment and Cultural Overlay District is not only a vibrant cultural hub but also a significant economic driver for our community,” said Mayor Javier Villalobos. “Ensuring compliance with permitting requirements is essential to public safety and the continued vitality of our downtown district. Providing direct access to subject-matter experts allows business owners to resolve questions efficiently and maintain operations within the established legal framework.”

Downtown business owners and operators are encouraged to visit the McAllen Development Center, located at 311 N. 15th Street, McAllen, Texas 78501, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
