City of McAllen lead discussion on business opportunities at the World Trade Center Monterrey
The City of McAllen actively engages with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to grow their presence in the South Texas market.
McAllen, TX – McAllen officials, along with the World Trade Center Monterrey – UANL, hosted “Café con Aliados: Texas,” aimed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking international expansion and entrepreneurial development.
Entrepreneurs, business leaders, and WTC-Monterrey faculty members convened at Biblioteca Universitaria Raul Rangel Frias to learn about the Rio Grande Valley business opportunities. This event allowed entrepreneurs to connect with city leaders and discuss market trends and available resources and programs for international companies and startups.
During the keynote panel, McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos highlighted the benefits of investing in McAllen, including its quality of life, business-friendly environment, streamlined development processes, safety, and economic stability.
“McAllen is taking steps to attract foreign investment and encourage business expansions through various initiatives. Participating in forums like “Café con Aliados” is crucial for showcasing our city as the leading business and investment destination in South Texas,” stated McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos.
McAllen’s soft-landing program is designed to empower foreign business owners by streamlining processes and delivering essential information for a seamless entry into the local business landscape. This initiative ensures connections with industry experts and business leaders, setting the stage for success in our vibrant community
“Collaborations with remarkable institutions, such as the World Trade Center Monterrey, which promote innovation and entrepreneurial growth, demonstrate the city’s proactive efforts to enhance business opportunities in international markets,” said McAllen City Manager Isaac J. Tawil.
The City of McAllen and the World Trade Center Monterrey – UANL, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in August 2024, with the shared goal of boosting economic growth and business development. This MOU aims to position McAllen as the prime business location in South Texas for World Trade Center Monterrey members looking to expand into U.S. markets.
