Celebrate the Season with Science at IMAS Christmas Tree Forest

Celebrate the Season with Science at IMAS Christmas Tree Forest

IMAS will host Christmas Tree Forest from December 3 through January 4

McAllen, TX — The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is inviting the community to be part of one of the Valley’s favorite holiday traditions, the annual IMAS Guild Christmas Tree Forest.

This year’s theme, “Christmas in a Science Lab,” puts a creative spin on the season, inspiring participants to combine the magic of the holidays with the wonder of science. From hand-made ornaments to imaginative tree designs, the Christmas Tree Forest is a showcase of local creativity, teamwork, and holiday spirit.

Applications are open now for schools, community groups, and organizations interested in decorating a tree. Spaces are limited, and entries will be accepted until filled. Participants will design and create their ornaments in advance, then decorate their tree on-site in November 13 through 16.

The Christmas Tree Forest will officially open to the public at IMAS on December 3 and remain on display through January 4, 2026. Visitors of all ages look forward to this exhibition every year, which celebrates the imagination of preschoolers through adult groups.

“The Christmas Tree Forest is a cherished tradition that always brings joy to our community” said Luna Galván, IMAS Exhibits Coordinator & Curatorial Assistant. “We’re excited to see how everyone’s imagination will bring this year’s science theme to life through festive creativity and holiday spirit.”
