Blueprints for Success: Mission High Construction Club Tops State in SkillsUSA

MISSION, TEXAS– Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) congratulates the Mission High School Construction Club for earning the title of State Champions in Chapter Business Parliamentary Procedure at the SkillsUSA Texas State Leadership and Skills Conference. This event was held as part of the annual state finals, celebrating student excellence in career and technical education.
As state champions, the team will represent Mission CISD and the State of Texas at the 2025 National Leadership and Skills Conference, scheduled for June in Atlanta, Georgia. There, they will compete for the national title in their category.
Mission High School is celebrating a big win for its Construction Club program and the hardworking students behind it.
“This achievement is a testament to the dedication, discipline, and leadership these students have shown all year,” said Benito Garza, Mission High School Agriculture/Construction CTE Teacher and team sponsor.
“They have spent countless hours preparing and perfecting their parliamentary skills, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see their hard work pay off at the state level. Now, we are excited to take this momentum to nationals and showcase what Mission CISD students can do on the national stage.”

In recognition of their achievement, each team member has been awarded a $10,000 Tuition Scholarship as a SkillsUSA Gold Medal Winner, applicable toward any Texas State Technical College (TSTC) campus.
Caleb Cabrera, Junior at Mission High School, reflects on the profound impact that the Construction Club has had on his school year.
“I’ve seen my friends from years before striving to earn this title, and by God’s grace, we finally got it,” Cabrera said. “The work put in over these past three years makes this mean so much to me.”
Mission CISD extends its congratulations to these outstanding students, their families, and the entire Career and Technical Education (CTE) department at Mission High School. The district is proud to support programs like SkillsUSA that empower students with real-world skills, leadership experience, and opportunities for success beyond high school.
