Billy Joel cancela su gira por EE.UU. tras ser diagnosticado con hidrocefalia

Los Angeles (USA) (EFE) – American singer Billy Joel announced the definitive cancellation of his tour of the United States and the United Kingdom after receiving a diagnosis of hydrocephalus.
“Billy Joel has announced that he will cancel all scheduled concerts following a recent diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). This condition has been aggravated by recent concert performances, resulting in hearing, vision, and balance issues,” the singer’s team reported on social media.
The singer is receiving “specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period,” the statement added.
“I sincerely regret disappointing our audiences and thank you for your understanding,” Joel said in the statement.
The 76-year-old singer announced on March 11 that he was postponing his concert tour for four months to recover from surgery, details of which were not provided.
The concert tour included several dates in different parts of the US in the coming months, including Las Vegas, San Antonio, St. Louis, and Cleveland, as well as a stop in the British cities of Edinburgh and Liverpool.
William Martin “Billy” Joel, a Bronx native, said goodbye last year to ten years of performing at Madison Square Garden, the iconic New York venue where he had a long, decade-long residency, performing one show per month, which he routinely sold out.
