Mission City Manager Attains Prestigious Credentialed Manager Designation
Mission, TX— Mission City Manager Randy Perez was awarded the prestigious Credentialed Manager designation by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) on Monday, February 5, 2024. This recognition places him among an esteemed cohort of approximately 1,300 local government management professionals worldwide who hold this distinction.
ICMA aims to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics and by increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world.
On his achievement, Randy Perez reflected, “Receiving this designation from ICMA is a testament to my commitment to the City of Mission and to the principles of leadership, management, and ethics upheld by ICMA. I am honored to be recognized and remain dedicated to serving out community with integrity and excellence.”
To receive the esteemed ICMA credential, a candidate must possess substantial experience as a senior management executive within local government, hold a degree, preferably in public administration or a related discipline, and exhibit a dedication to upholding high standards of integrity, along with a commitment to lifelong learning and professional advancement.
Randy Perez’s career exemplifies these principles, showcasing over 22 years of devoted public service to the City of Mission. Since assuming the role of City Manager in 2018, Perez has demonstrated remarkable leadership and vision.

In addition to his role as City Manager, Randy Perez is actively involved in various professional organizations. He serves on the South Texas College Public Administration Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Government Finance Officer Association and the Texas City Management Association, where he serves as the Region 10 Representative in the Ethics Committee at the state level.
