Eight Area Campuses Named 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools

Edinburg, Texas – Eight area campuses were named 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools, a statewide honor recognizing academic performance and measurable progress in closing achievement gaps. Governor Greg Abbott announced 28 honorees on September 29, 2025.

The honor succeeds the federal National Blue Ribbon Schools program in Texas and is now administered by the state as the Lone Star Ribbon program.

The Region One-area schools recognized are:

• La Joya ISD (1): Diaz-Villarreal Elementary
• Laredo ISD (3): Daiches Elementary; D.D. Hachar Elementary; Macdonell Elementary
• Pharr–San Juan–Alamo ISD (1): PSJA Thomas Jefferson T-STEM Early College High School
• Roma ISD (2): Delia Gonzalez Garcia Elementary; R.T. Barrera Elementary
• Sharyland ISD (1): Harry Shimotsu Elementary
