City of McAllen and McAllen Fire Union Sign Three-Year Collective Bargaining Agreement

McAllen, Texas – The City of McAllen and the McAllen Fire Union have officially signed a new three-year collective bargaining agreement, reinforcing a strong partnership dedicated to public safety and service excellence. The agreement was unanimously approved by the McAllen City Commission and ratified by the McAllen Fire Union.

 

This renewed agreement reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to supporting its firefighters, enhancing collaboration, and ensuring the continued delivery of exceptional emergency services to the McAllen community.

 

McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos stated, “I know the McAllen firefighters are some of the best professionals in the State.  The hard work from our team to be able to negotiate on behalf of the best interest of the City of McAllen and its residents shows the level of dedication that is unmatched, thank you for reaching an agreement.”

 

“Our McAllen Fire Department has continually demonstrated character, dedication, and a deep commitment to service, not only here at home, but also in response to disasters across Texas,” said McAllen City Manager Isaac J. Tawil. “This agreement is a testament to the respect and value we place on our firefighters and the vital role they play in keeping our city safe.”
