Caitlin Clark, Fever star, out for season

New York, (EFE).- Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark announced Thursday on her social media that she has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to the groin injury she has been dealing with for weeks.
“I was hoping to share better news, but I will not return to play this season. I spent hours in the gym every day with the sole goal of getting back on the court; saying I’m ‘disappointed’ doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel,” Clark said.
Clark, regarded as a generational talent and the all-time leading scorer in college basketball history, has only played 13 games this season, her second in the WNBA. “It’s been incredibly frustrating,” admitted the player, who has not played since July 15.
Amber Cox, an executive with the Fever, said in a team statement that “there isn’t enough time left in the season for her to return safely, and her long-term health and well-being remain the top priority.”
“Caitlin has worked very hard throughout this time, doing everything possible to recover and get back on the court, but ultimately, time is not on our side,” she added.
The Fever are battling in the final stretch of the regular season for the last three playoff spots against the Golden State Valkyries, Seattle Storm, and Los Angeles Sparks.
