Get Hooked! The 44th Annual Ladies Kingfish Tournament Returns to South Padre Island August 8-10

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND- Grab your fishing rods and your favorite crew—it’s almost time for the most exciting weekend of the summer (at least for the ladies, that is)! The 44th Annual Ladies Kingfish Tournament is back on South Padre Island from August 8–10, bringing together women from across Texas and beyond for a weekend of fun, friendship, and fierce competition on the water.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or just in it for the laughs and the BBQ, this women-only tournament is all about making memories—and maybe landing the big one.

“As the first all-women’s fishing tournament in Texas, the Ladies Kingfish Tournament has become about more than just fishing—it’s a celebration of sisterhood, saltwater, and South Padre sunshine,” said Blake Henry, Executive Director of Visit South Padre Island.

The weekend kicks off with a lively Friday night BBQ and party, followed by a full day of fishing on Saturday in two divisions, Bay and Offshore. On Sunday, champions are crowned and everyone leaves a winner in fun and friendship. So round up your girls, name your boat, and head to the Island for a weekend you won’t forget!
