Trump demands artists like Beyoncé and Springsteen to be investigated for supporting Harris

International News, (EFE).- US President Donald Trump on Monday demanded a “thorough investigation” into the personalities, mostly artists, who supported Kamala Harris’s 2024 election campaign, including Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé.

The current US president alleges that their appearances on his Democratic opponent’s campaign trail were potentially illegal contributions.

“HOW MUCH DID KAMALA HARRIS PAY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN FOR HIS POOR PERFORMANCE DURING HER PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN? WHY DID SHE ACCEPT THAT MONEY IF SHE’S SUCH A FAN OF HER? ISN’T THAT A LARGE AND ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION? WHAT ABOUT BEYONCÉ? …AND HOW MUCH WAS FOR OPRAH (Winfrey) AND BONO (U2 singer)?” Trump wrote on his Truth Social profile.

“I will be calling for a full investigation into this matter. Candidates cannot pay for ENDORSEMENT, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment,” the Republican president added.

He emphasized that: “Furthermore, this was a very expensive and desperate effort to artificially boost her meager audience. IT IS NOT LEGAL!” For these unpatriotic “artists,” this was simply a CORRUPT AND ILLEGAL way to capitalize on a broken system.”

Trump’s message follows the controversy he has recently experienced with artists such as Bruce Springsteen.

“My home, the America I love, the America I have written about, which has been a beacon of hope and freedom for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and traitorous Administration,” said the New Jersey artist at the beginning of a lengthy speech against Trump and his government in the United Kingdom last week.

For his part, Trump called Springsteen an “arrogant moron” on Friday: “I see the overrated Bruce Springsteen going to a foreign country to badmouth the President of the United States,” the president said on his social media platform.

“I never liked him, never liked his music or his radical leftist politics, and more importantly, he is not a talented guy. “Just an arrogant, disgusting jerk who fervently supported the corrupt Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent idiot and our WORST president in history, who nearly destroyed our country,” he said.

The controversy prompted the American Federation of Musicians to defend Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen, both targets of insults from US President Donald Trump.

“Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift are not only brilliant musicians, but also role models and inspirations to millions of people in the United States and around the world,” said the guild’s president, Tino Gagliard, in a statement.
