Mission Veterans Memorial High School takes center stage with multiple nominations for 2025 Palm Awards

The talented students at Mission Veterans Memorial High School have been honored with five nominations and additional honorable mentions for their outstanding production of Bright Star at the upcoming 2025 Palm Awards. Under the direction of Ismael Hernandez and Vanessa Ramos, the cast and crew have demonstrated exceptional dedication, creativity, and passion for musical theater.
The production received nominations in the following categories:
· Best Leading Actress in a Musical – Janelle Hinojosa
· Best Featured Performer in a Musical – Maive Paz Lopez
· Best Scenic Execution
· Best Choreography
· Best Costume & Hair
· Additionally, the following honorable mentions were awarded:
· Best Supporting Actress in a Musical – Raissa Ramirez
· Best Ensemble in a Musical
The Palm Awards Ceremony will take place in May, where nominees will be celebrated, and winners will be announced.
Mission CISD Fine Arts Director, Carlos Garcia, commended the students and directors for their hard work and dedication.

Mission CISD also extends a special recognition to Vocal Director Julie Dynnik and Choreographer Emily Villarreal, whose expertise and commitment played a vital role in the production’s success.
