WHY:
Kidney disease is a silent epidemic, disproportionately affecting Hispanic/Latino communities. According to the National Kidney Foundation:
- Hispanics/Latinos are at higher risk for kidney disease.
- Since 2000, kidney failure rates have tripled within the community.
- Kidney disease is the 8th leading cause of death in the U.S., claiming more lives than breast or prostate cancer annually.
This event is more than just a car show—it’s a call to action. By raising awareness, promoting early detection, and encouraging organ donation, this event aims to empower the Rio Grande Valley to take charge of their kidney health and save lives.
